Simone first became interested in gymnastics when she was six. The coach Aimee Borman accompanied Biles to Bannon's Gymnastix, where they went to a field trip. Biles achieved a medal of gold in the floor and bronze in vault at the women's Junior Olympic National Championships in 2010. Then she re-entered the elite levels of gymnastics competition in the year 2011. In less than two years, Biles was a dominant competitor in the sport.
